Tips for the upcoming bridal shows:

1)     Get coupons from local wedding vendors or online

2)     Bring your address labels so you do not have to write your address out a million times to win great prizes

3)     Go during the fashion shows- you can get through the aisles quicker

4)     Bring 2 bags to keep papers you are handed- a keep bag and a dump bag.  You are going to have way too much information to go through and it will be very hard to remember everyone you met

5)     Don’t bring too many people and leave kids at home

6)     Go with a plan.  There is so much to see!  Top show picks:-- great for flower ideas, tasting cake, looking at photography albums from cover to cover (did they capture an entire wedding like you would want yours captured?), and meeting DJ’s

It's all about the education

Jamie and Diana just returned from the Association of Bridal Consultant's Educational Conference in Orlando Florida! What a wonderful experience to be able to network with 450 other bridal consultants from across the country and even across continents!
This year had the largest turnout of Ohio members ever in the history of the conference and we represented Columbus well!

We enjoyed some great sessions, such as:

"Putting the GO back into GOals"
"How to Market to the Echo-Boomer Bride"
"Navigating Balance in our lives and businesses" by celebrity wedding planner, Mary Dann

The biggest highlight of our conference was being able to meet and learn from David Tutera!
Learning how David and his team plans weddings and the decor they use was so inspirational. David taught us a lot of new wow factors that we can't wait to share with our clients.
With all the pictures and excitement among the attendees, you would have thought a movie star was at our conference. But in the world of wedding planning, David Tutera is a star!

Here is a picture of Jamie and David at the conference.

Third Anniversary (Leather): A pair of chic passport covers from Smythson of Bond Street can be gold-stamped with the couple's individual names or their monogram.

Fourth Anniversary (Flowers): Rather than send a single arrangement, splurge on a weekly floral subscription from a trend-setting florist like Ovando. For a special touch, ask the florist to incorporate the couple's wedding flowers into each arrangement.

Fifth Anniversary (Wood): Order the elegant tabletop wine rack from Red Envelope, have it personalized with the couple's monogram, and fill it with bottles of the champagne they served at their wedding.

Spring Fever

We hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather! I think everyone is getting the Spring Fever Bug.

With the changes of the season come changes for Devoted to Details.

We have exciting news to announce within our company and outside the company. First, there was a DTD wedding on March 17! Don't be fooled by my new name, Diana Holt - same planner, just with a new last name. I had to shop around for a good wedding planner in this town - Just Kidding! Of course I had the great assistance of the DTD gang! We will post some pictures soon to share with all of you.

Next we want to announce the exciting change taking place outside our company with Columbus Bridal Consultants. While the growth of CBC has been exciting, CBC is now going to split into two separate entities, one still being CBC, which will consist of wedding and event planners only. The other exciting new organization will now be called Wedding Professionals of Columbus or WPC.Jamie is going to the President and owner of this group for all wedding professionals. WPC has it's own logo and the website is currently being constructed. Stay tuned for all the exciting updates!

Up and Running

After the year long process of trying to update our website, the day has finally arrived. The NEW DTD website is up and running.

We have changed every aspect of the site and we appreciate the assistance of Bill, our website guy! Our sincerest thanks to Bill for all of his support and patience with the DTD team!

We are very excited about the change and we hope you enjoy what we have done!

 What's New With DTD

Our goal is to complete 50-60 weddings & events this year! We'd better take our vitamins! To all the brides out there, not to worry, each one of our planners only takes on one wedding a weekend. But, with 3 planners in the office, we can each take a wedding totaling 3 events.

The 3 most popular Dates for 2007 are: May 9, July 7 (you all saw that coming), and September 8!
